Participants have three minutes to impress the judges and public, demonstrating world-class content, clarity and charisma." |

The FameLab competition was first organised in Hungary in 2018 by the British Council and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. That year the semi-finals of the national competition consisted of two rounds. My first presentation was about "How to save lives with complexity science", and the second one was about "Holography, a hungarian invention". In the final I finally chose a topic that is the closest to my research and also to my heart: "About the true nature of black holes". |

Awesome science communicators from 27 countries competed in 2018 in the international competition where I was honoured to represent Hungary. In the semi final my presentation "Saving lives with complexity science" got me into the top 12. In the final I revealed "The true nature of black holes'' and I showed to the judges and the audience that black holes are actually just like invisible babies. For me, Famelab is not just a competition. It has given me an incredible amount: Experiences, friends, community, opportunities, development. New horizons and perspectives in my work and beyond. |

Astronomy on Tap - Drink the Universe (AoT) is a global program that brings exciting topics about the universe down to Earth - and more specifically to a local bar! Originally started in New York city, there are now dozens of AoT events world wide. AoT -Budapest hosts free monthly events that combine both English and Hungarian lectures on astronomy, astrophysics and space sciences, astro-themed quizzes with prizes, an overview of current events in astronomy, and of course, beer. The event is open to anyone and everyone. I have been a member of the organising team since the second event in Budapest. Unfortunately during the pandemic our programs are hibernating, but hopefully we could wake up soon. You can find us on Facebook:↻ |
